FirstCarbon Solutions and CDP Continue to Expand Global PartnershipBACK
IRVINE, CA and LONDON, UK, September 15, 2015 FirstCarbon Solutions (FCS), a pioneer in environmental, social and governance solutions, and CDP, provider of the only global environmental disclosure system, today announced a further expansion of their global scoring partnership for climate change and supply chain water disclosures.
Entering its fifth year of partnership with CDP, FCS has scored more than 15,600 company disclosures as CDPs global sustainability outsourcing partner. New for 2015, CDP outsourced South Africa, Italy and Japan (English language) climate change scoring to FCS. These new regions and countries join the Supply Chain program and the S&P 500, FTSE 350, Canada, Southeast Asia, Nordic, Benelux, India, and Australia/New Zealand investor-led regions making FCS the primary scoring partner for CDP worldwide. In addition, as the exclusive supply chain program scoring partner, FCS assumed responsibility for scoring water disclosures submitted as part of CDPs Supply Chain program. As a result of this expanded role, FCS will score more than 5,500 CDP disclosures in 2015 alone.
Recognized by Globescan as the leading global system to measure, disclose, manage and share climate change and other vital environmental information, CDP provides an information platform for investors to protect their long-term investments and reduce the risks arising from environmental externalities. It also helps organizations implement successful supplier engagement strategies, reduce supply chain emissions, control water impact and manage risk in a changing climate.
CDP investor initiatives endorsed in 2015 by more than 822 institutional investors representing an excess of US$95 trillion in assets give investors access to a global source of year-on-year information that supports long-term objective analysis. This includes evidence and insight into companies greenhouse gas emissions, water usage and strategies for managing climate change, water and deforestation risks.
“We welcome the expansion of our successful partnership with FCS with the broader remit across new regions and water scoring,” says Paul Simpson, chief executive officer at CDP. “Working with FCS as a multi-market partner helps ensure consistent methodologies are applied and streamlined processes are in place as more global organizations take action to reduce emissions and impacts.”
“Transparency in environmental, social and corporate governance is becoming commonplace as more investment groups and customers require this information to properly manage risk while promoting good stewardship,” says Robert Francisco, president at FCS. “We are proud to be helping organizations around the world measure, disclose and improve their climate change strategies and factor in water risk and opportunity to their supply chain analyses.”
In conjunction with the new partnership, FCS will retain its status as CDP gold consultancy partner and silver software partner. FCS will also provide CDP performance reviews to companies it scored in 2015 and will again serve as lead scorer for CDPs on-demand services.
